Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital Handed Over To The Government

Jan 05, Kathmandu- Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that the government is preparing to make cancer treatment accessible to everyone in Nepal. At the 34th Central Assembly of the Nepal Cancer Prevention Association held in Banepa, Kavre, Minister Poudel said that cancer can be reduced through preventive measures and spreading public awareness against cancer.

Poudel said that efforts are being made to make treatment accessible within the country by making policy decisions and making it practical. At the central assembly, Nepal's first Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, established three decades ago by the Nepal Cancer Prevention and Control Organization, was officially handed over to the Nepal government through Health Minister Poudel.

According to the bilateral agreement between the government and the organization, the hospital will be operated as per the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital Development Committee Agreement, 2077.

Mahesh Shrestha, Chairman of the Nepal Cancer Prevention and Control Organization, expressed his belief that the understanding reached between the two parties regarding the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, which was previously a dispute between the Nepal government and the Nepal Cancer Prevention and Control Organization, will usher in a new phase in the prevention and treatment of cancer in Nepal.
