Jan 06, Kathmandu- The government has increased public transport fares. The Department of Transport Management has announced new public transport fares effective from Tuesday. The department has stated that the fares have increased for both passenger and freight transport.

According to the department, passenger vehicle fares have increased by up to 3.30 percent. Freight vehicle fares in the hills have increased by 0.81 percent and freight vehicle fares in the Terai by 0.05 percent.

Earlier, the government had adjusted fares on 31 Shrawan 2080.
