Jan 07, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has honored and awarded medal-winning players, coaches, and managers in SAFF Women's Football, Asian Karate, and CAVA Beach Volleyball.
The awards were presented in a program organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, today, based on the criteria set out in the decision of the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers, on Mangsir 28. Following the directives of Prime Minister Oli, tax exemptions have been provided for awards given in the sports sector.
Awards were presented to Amrita Jaisi, the medalist in football at the SAFF Women's Championship held in Kathmandu from Ashwin 1 to 4, along with head coach Rajendra Tamang and manager Brinda Dewan, and Erika Gurung, the medalist in the 20th Asian Karate Championship held in Haizhou, China from Mangsr 1 to 7, along with head coach Kushal Shrestha.
Similarly, the winners of the CAVA Beach Women's and Men's Volleyball Tournament held in Thimphu, Bhutan from 17th to 20th of last Shrawan were awarded to Kamala Pun, Manish Kumari Chaudhary, and coach Rupesh Kumar Bista.
The honors and awards were given for their significant contribution to the growth of the nation's pride in the international arena through sports.
At the event, Prime Minister Oli congratulated the winners and urged them to enter the competition with high morale, saying that if they dare, they can win the game, and said that team spirit and combination are important in the game. He urged that Nepali sports should prosper and progress everywhere and urged them to work for it.
Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary informed that he has been urging the concerned parties to send the details of other players who have won international competitions and are yet to be awarded prizes as soon as possible.
