China Launches Orbital Refueling Satellite

Jan 07, Kathmandu- China has successfully launched Shijian-25 into space on Tuesday morning using a Long March 3B rocket.

The rocket was launched at 4:00 a.m. (Beijing time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan Province. The payload was later brought into a predetermined orbit. Payload refers to the equipment designed to carry and operate the satellite.

According to the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, the developer of Sijian-25, the satellite is mainly used for refueling.

The launch marks the 555th mission of China's first rocket launch series in 2025.
