Jan 09, Kathmandu- Chinese media reported that more than 1,200 aftershocks have been felt since the earthquake that struck China on Tuesday morning. According to Xinhua, there have been 1,211 aftershocks as of Thursday afternoon.
On Tuesday morning, at 9:55 a.m. Beijing time, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Dingri County, Xizang. Since then, the largest aftershock of 4.4 magnitude has occurred. The Regional Earthquake Bureau said that there were 33 aftershocks above magnitude 3.
126 people lost their lives in the earthquake and 188 people were injured. Likewise, 407 people trapped in the debris have been rescued.
