Jan 09, Kathmandu- A bail of Rs 8.8 million has been demanded from former DIG Chhabilal Joshi in the Suryadarshan Cooperative savings embezzlement case.
The bench of District Court Kaski Judge Nitij Rai has demanded a bail of Rs 8.8 million from Joshi.
Along with him, Rabi Lamichhane has also been sought bail. A bail of Rs 6.5 million has been sought from Lamichhane.
A case was filed against them for cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering. A compensation of Rs 52.65 million was sought against Chhabilal Joshi for cooperative fraud.
The money laundering case had demanded an amount equal to Rs 743.471 million, claiming that the source of Rs 743.471 million of former DIG Chhabilal Joshi had not been disclosed.
