Jan 10, Kathmandu- Grok, an AI model developed by XAI, has been made available in a separate mobile app. Grok AI, which was previously only available on X, is now available as a separate app.
Now this app is available in the app store. A tabbed version of the social media platform, such as the Grok app, can be used to create photos, summarize tests and answer questions.
The app was first tested with a limited number of users in December 2024. At the same time, X launched a free version of Grok, which is available to everyone.
Previously, you had to pay at least $8 per month for X Premium to use Grok. 10 requests in two hours, three photo analysis requests per day, will likely apply to the Grok app as well.
The app can also be used without signing in. You can sign in with Apple, X, Google, or a regular email. It is not clear whether the X Premium subscription will get additional features in the Grok app or not.
Grok has struggled with accuracy and photo creation issues, like other AI assistants, such as Gemini and ChatGPT. A version of the Grok AI model is also available as an open source.
