Jan 10, Kathmandu- Two Nepalese have died in the US after their car slipped on snow and fell into a pond.
The car fell into a pond near the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Santilli, Fairfax County, Virginia.
According to the newspaper Daily Voice, published in Santilli, the deceased were identified as Karna Khadka, 55, and Nischal Bhatta, 20. Their address in Nepal has not been disclosed.
According to Fairfax County Police, a report of a submerged vehicle was received in the 3900 block of Centerview Drive at 7:25 a.m. local time on Thursday. The car, which was being driven on a snow-covered road, suddenly skidded and fell into the pond, Daily Voice reported, citing police there.
Police, who arrived at the scene after receiving information, pulled the car out of the pond. The car was completely submerged in a 10-foot-deep pond, and two people were found dead inside the car.
Police have asked anyone with information about them to contact Fairfax County Police.
