Jan 10, Kathmandu- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane will appear on the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday. Lamichhane, who was released from custody following an order by the Kaski District Court on Thursday, is coming to Kathmandu via road.
Lamichhane will appear in court only on Sunday, informed Deepak Bohora, co-treasurer of the party.
According to the party's acting spokesperson Manish Jha, Lamichhane had left Pokhara by land at 10 am. The police had handed over Rabi to his family on the condition that he appear in court himself.
Jha, acting spokesperson of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), said that although Lamichhane was preparing to arrive in Kathmandu by air, he left for Kathmandu from Pokhara by road due to the large group of leaders and cadres.
Lamichhane, who was arrested from Kathmandu on Kartik 2, was taken into custody by Kaski Police. The police had arrested him for investigating a case involving the Suryadarshan Cooperative in Kaski.
A bench of District Court Kaski Judge Nitij Rai ordered his release on bail of Rs 6.5 million yesterday, Thursday.
