Jan 11, Kathmandu- According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, 11 people have died so far due to the fire.
In an update released Friday afternoon (US time), the medical examiner said five people had died in the Palisades fire and six others had died in the Eaton fire.
Only three of the deceased have been identified so far.
Firefighters are working to contain the fires that have spread across five Los Angeles counties.
The fire is the most extensive in the Palisades. More than 20,000 acres have been affected by the fire. So far, eight percent of the fire has been contained.
About 14,000 acres of land has been burnt to ashes due to the fire that spread in Eaton. Here, three percent of the fire has been brought under control.
The fire in Lydia is 75 percent under control. Around 400 acres of land has been affected by the fire.
An area of 771 acres has been burnt in Harshta and 37 percent of the fire has been brought under control.
In Kenneth, a fire that has burned more than 1,000 acres has been stopped from spreading.
