36 Passengers Sick After Eating On Cathay Pacific Flight From Nepal To Hong Kong

Jan 11, Kathmandu- An investigation has been launched after passengers on a flight from Hong Kong's flag carrier Cathay Pacific fell ill during a flight to Nepal.

Health officials in Hong Kong have launched an investigation into the food served on the plane after several people were found to be suffering from food poisoning.

The Center for Health Protection said 36 passengers who arrived in Hong Kong from Kathmandu on Friday had food poisoning. The health officials said that a detailed investigation has been started.

The airline also apologized on Friday evening and said it would fully cooperate with the investigation. “If inedible substances are found in the food on the airline’s flights, we will report them truthfully and transparently and take all necessary corrective actions,” the statement said.

Cathay, which had suspended flights due to Corona, resumed flights to Nepal in October 2020.
