Amendment Of Health Insurance Act

Jan 12, Kathmandu- The government has decided to amend the Health Insurance Act 2074 BS.

The Cabinet meeting held last Friday sought to make the insurance program more effective by amending the Health Insurance Act 2074 BS.

According to information provided by a minister, the Health Insurance Act has been amended to provide for at least one service-providing health institution at the local level.

The Council of Ministers has decided to amend the Health Insurance Act 2074 BS to make the health insurance program effective and to make arrangements for the board to enter into an agreement so that there will be at least one service provider health institution at each local level for the purpose of the first service point.

Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel had been saying that changes should be made to the existing act to make the health insurance program effective.
