Jan 12, Kathmandu- Sherpas who climbed Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, have been honored. They were honored on the occasion of Sherpa Day declared by the US state of Colorado.
The Sherpas who climbed Mount Everest were honored during a program jointly organized by the Sherpa Association Colorado and the Non-Resident Nepali Association of America Colorado Chapter.
On January 5, 2022, Colorado Governor Jared Polis announced that January 5 would be celebrated as Sherpa Day in Colorado. The Sherpa mountaineers were honored on the occasion of Sherpa Day.
