Jan 12, Kathmandu- The report of the Attorney General's Office for the fiscal year 2080/81 has been submitted to President Ram Chandra Paudel.
Attorney General Ramesh Badal submitted the report to President Poudel at a program organized at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas today. On the occasion, President Poudel said that the work of investigation, prosecution, debate, advocacy and defense of government cases should be more scientific, effective and factual, and if the success rate of cases can be further increased, the rule of law and especially the administration of criminal justice will be enhanced.
"I believe that whether the victim gets justice or whether the case is victim-friendly is more important than just increasing the success rate of the case," President Paudel said. "Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Attorney General not only to punish the perpetrators but also to ensure that the victims get justice including compensation."
He expressed confidence that the Attorney General's Office would also pay special attention to whether the Constitution has been effectively implemented to protect the rights of crime victims in the context of ensuring the fundamental rights of the Constitution of Nepal. On the occasion, Attorney General Badal presented the summary of the report.
