30 million internet subscribers: One-third of the market belongs to Worldlink, these are the 20 largest companies

Jan 13, Kathmandu- The number of mobile broadband, wired and wireless internet service subscriptions in Nepal has reached around 30 million. According to the latest data from the Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the regulatory body for the telecommunications sector, the number of SIM cards used for internet is 26.23 million, 572.

Similarly, the number of customers using wired and wireless internet services from various companies is 29,86,533. Thus, the total internet service subscription has reached 29,190,105.

In this, mobile internet has a market share of 89.85 percent. Internet companies have a share of 44.75 percent.

The market for Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies that provide home internet connections via fiber and wireless internet services is growing.

World Link Communications has the largest market share among internet companies. According to the authority, World Link has 952,147 customers, or 31.88 percent, out of a total of 2,986,533.

Nepal Telecom, or Nepal Telecommunications Company, has reached the second position with a market share of 11.63 percent. The number of internet subscribers of Nepal Telecom is 347,475.

Dish Media Network (DishHome) is in third place with a market share of 11.19 percent. It has 334,126 internet subscribers.

Subisu Cablenet is in fourth place with a market share of 10.23 percent. It has 305,627 subscribers.

Vianet, the fifth largest internet company with a market share of 7.29 percent, has 217,845 customers.

Websurfer Nepal Communication, which is ranked sixth, has 181,464 customers. Its market share is 6.09 percent.

Classic Tech, ranked seventh, has 171,507 customers. Its market share is 5.77 percent.
