Jan 14, Kathmandu- A young woman was stabbed in Thankot, Chandragiri Municipality-3, Kathmandu. Saru Magar, 27, a resident of Thankot, who lives in Dang, was injured in a knife attack on Paush 26. She is currently undergoing treatment at a trauma center.
Police have arrested and are investigating the accused, 35-year-old Chandra Bahadur Khatri, a resident of Gangadevi Rural Municipality in Rolpa. An investigation is underway against him after obtaining a court summons in a case of attempted murder.
The victim suffered injuries to the back of her neck and face. The victim and the accused are former acquaintances.
Chandra Bahadur returned to Nepal after working in Saudi Arabia for five years. Chandra Bahadur told the investigating officers that he used to send money to Saru from abroad.
The police investigation has concluded that the accused stabbed Saru in anger after he contacted him after returning from Saudi Arabia and said, "I don't know him". Chandra Bahadur said in his statement, "I had known Saru for a long time, I was also sending money to her from abroad."
An argument broke out between them after the girl 'ignored' him. Saru's sister has a vegetable shop in Thankot Bazar. The accused met her at the shop and stabbed her.
The injured Saru was initially taken to Medpoint Hospital in Satungal. After being referred by Medpoint, she was admitted to the Trauma Center.
