The parliamentary hearing committee held at Singha Durbar on Thursday began the parliamentary hearing of Khadka, who is proposed to be a member of the Judicial Council. In the committee meeting, Committee Chairperson Ishwori Devi Neupane said that the name of Damodar Khadka, proposed for appointment as a member of the Judicial Council, was proposed by the Judicial Council to the committee for parliamentary hearing on Paush 29. She proposed to make the information public through government media for the purpose of informing the general public about the proposed person and to submit any information or complaint regarding him to the committee.
The committee unanimously passed the proposal. Committee Chair Neupane directed the committee secretary to publish information through government media and electronic media such as email, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee Procedures 2080, for the purpose of informing the general public about the names received by the committee for hearing and for the purpose of providing any information or complaint regarding the proposed person to the committee.
She said, "A letter has been received from the Judicial Council on 29-9-2081 to this committee proposing the name of Damodar Khadka for appointment as a member of the Judicial Council for a parliamentary hearing. I provide time to the respected members to make their statements in the context of initiating the parliamentary hearing process of the person recommended for the proposed position. In accordance with Section 12 of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee Procedures 2080, I propose to make the information public through government media for the purpose of informing the general public about the proposed person and providing any information or complaint regarding him to the committee. In order to inform the general public about the name received by the committee for hearing and providing any information or complaint regarding him to the committee, I direct the committee secretary to publish the information through government media and electronic media such as email."
