Jan 17, Kathmandu- Leaders of the four major political parties have held discussions on the formulation of laws.
On Friday, a discussion was held at the CPN-UML parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar between leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, and the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
The chief whips and chief whips of all four parties participated in the discussion.
UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula informed that discussions were held on the issue of 'forming a common view on the bills pending in the parliamentary committee'.
The leaders of the four parties have also discussed ways to prevent bills from getting stuck in the House and parliamentary committees.
"There have been discussions on taking initiatives to break the situation where bills remain in the House for 5/6 years and making necessary arrangements for this in the House of Representatives regulations," he said.
The parties have also been discussing the issue of setting a deadline for lawmaking.
