Energy Minister Khadka, Assaulted In The Ministry

Jan 17, Kathmandu- Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, who has been accused of insulting Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director Kulman Ghising, has been assaulted in his office. Khadka was assaulted by a man in his office in Singha Durbar last Friday.

The incident, which remained secret for almost a week, was only made public on Thursday. Khadka complained to Deuba that he had been assaulted when Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba called the ministers to his residence for a briefing on the matter.

He had complained that the minister did not have security in the Singha Durbar premises. During this, Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak, who is also the Home Minister, questioned Minister Khadka about why he was not informed about the incident in time.

Minister Khadka had alleged that a person from Gorkha's Pokharel surname had assaulted him. Minister Khadka was appointed as a minister from the party's quota of Shashank Koirala.

Since being appointed as the Minister of Energy, Khadka has been working to remove Ghising, the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, from his post. He has even set up his own office in the NEA office, putting pressure on Ghising.
