Jan 17, Kathmandu- Opposition parties, including the main opposition CPN-Maoist Center, have made five serious allegations against the coalition government led by the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
The statement issued after the opposition parties held a meeting at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Friday made various allegations against the current coalition government.
"The constitution does not envisage imposing a two-party dictatorship under any name. However, the repeated attempts to introduce ordinances related to political parties in an arbitrary and dictatorial manner to maintain power and split the opposition parties are leading to a situation where the historical achievements of the Nepali people through various struggles are being taken away," they said. "The beauty of democracy is respect for different opinions and diversity. We oppose the above-mentioned steps of the government to create autocracy, arbitrariness and dictatorship under this or that pretext."
