Jan 18, Kathmandu- A man has died in a wild elephant attack in Sundarharaicha, Morang.
According to the District Police Office, Morang, 71-year-old Hari Prasad Ghimire of Sundarharaincha Municipality-8 died after being attacked by an elephant that entered the settlement along with its calf on Friday night.
Police have stated that Ghimire died on the spot after being attacked by an elephant that came to his house in the middle of the night and started causing trouble. Ghimire died on the spot after being attacked by a mother elephant with her calf.
Earlier, on Paush 15, 60-year-old Chandra Kumari Limbu, a resident of a local Gurung village in the Namuna Community Forest in Sundarharaincha Municipality-5, died after being attacked by an elephant.
Recently, locals in the area around Sundar Haraicha have been terrified by the threat of wild elephants. Elephants have been causing damage to property and lives in Belbari in Morang, Kanepokhari in Sundar Haraicha, and Itahari in Sunsari.
