Jan 20, Kathmandu- In Paush, 67,258 Nepali workers went for foreign employment. The Department of Foreign Employment has stated that 16,968 workers went for foreign employment in Paush compared to Mangsir. According to the department, 84,226 people went for foreign employment in Mangsir. This was the highest ever. However, there has been a significant decrease in the number in Paush.
The department stated that in Paush, 29,316 people went to South Korea and Israel through manpower companies, 10,085 people on new individual labour permits, 27,203 people through labour permit renewals, and 655 people sent by the government went to South Korea and Israel.
According to the department's data, 393,067 people have gone for foreign employment in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The largest number of Nepali workers have gone to the UAE for employment in the current fiscal year. The department has stated that the UAE is followed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
