Fire Breaks Out In New Area Of ​​California

Jan 24, Kathmandu- California State University Channel Islands has ordered an immediate evacuation of its campus due to the outbreak of another wildfire (the Laguna Fire) that began Thursday morning in Ventura County, California, USA.

The Ventura County Star newspaper reported that the fire broke out at 8:35 a.m. local time on a hillside west of the Camarillo community and university campus.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, crew members who arrived at the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m. local time said the fire had grown to 50 acres.

Helicopters are dropping water on the fire.

“Firefighters are aggressively battling the fire from the air and on the ground,” Ventura County Fire Department officials said on social media.

They are assessing any potential structural damage in the area and trying to minimize damage. Officials have also issued evacuation orders for California State University Channel Islands and University Glen.

A fire has been reported in Round Mountain/Sataviva, a residential community located adjacent to the university campus, and evacuations have been ordered for the campus and the neighborhood.

Officials issued an emergency warning, saying, “Please begin evacuating the campus and University Glen/Enkapa Canyon immediately.”
