Courtesy Meeting Between Vice President Yadav And Japanese Ambassador Toru

Jan 24, Kathmandu- Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Maeda Toru had a courtesy meeting with Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav on Friday.

Ambassador Toru met with Vice President Yadav at the Vice President's Office in Lainchaur on Friday.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries, high-level visits, economic cooperation and collaboration, and bilateral trade and investment were discussed, according to Vice President Yadav's secretariat.

Vice President Yadav mentioned that Nepal and Japan have enjoyed historical relations and said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1956, the relations between the two countries have been progressing in a closer and more friendly manner.

Stating that Nepal attaches high importance to relations and cooperation with Japan, he said that there are very good relations between the governments and people of both countries, as well as good friendship, understanding, and a spirit of cooperation.

Vice President Yadav said that Japan has been an important and trusted development partner for Nepal's social and economic development since 1954.

Ambassador Toru stated that Japanese assistance to Nepal will continue and that the Nagdhunga Tunnel will be operational this year. He expressed his happiness over Nepal's participation in the Osaka Expo.
