Jan 27, Kathmandu- Hamas is set to release six more Israeli hostages.
Hamas is ready to release the six Israelis in exchange for Israel agreeing to allow people in northern Gaza to return to their homes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas will release six more Israeli hostages this week and that people in northern Gaza will be allowed to return to their homes starting Monday.
Israel has not allowed people from northern Gaza to return, citing delays in the release of its citizens. Hamas released four female soldiers on Saturday, but Israel accused Hamas of violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement without Arbel Yehud's release. According to the agreement, Israeli citizens had to be released first.
Since the Gaza ceasefire agreement came into effect, Hamas has released seven hostages. In exchange, Israel has released 300 Palestinian prisoners. The January ceasefire agreement halted the war that began when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
