Jan 28, Kathmandu- China is ready to repatriate its citizens identified as illegally residing in the United States. The Chinese government has said that it will repatriate its citizens who are illegally residing in the United States.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose taxes and sanctions on some countries who are living illegally in the US if they do not return them. In recent months, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has sent hundreds of Chinese citizens back to China on five charter flights, after the US declared them illegal residents.

The department has warned that China will face serious consequences, including visa restrictions, if it rejects its citizens. “We are cooperating with the immigration and law enforcement departments of the United States and other countries. After verification and confirmation as Chinese citizens, China is ready to take those citizens back," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said while talking to reporters in Beijing. Trump declared illegal immigration a national emergency on his first day in office last week.
