Doctors And Health Workers Of Narayani Hospital Block Tribhuvan Highway

Jan 31, Kathmandu- Doctors, nurses, and health workers at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj have protested on the road in front of the hospital under Tribhuvan Highway, saying that there are problems in treatment due to the lack of buildings at the hospital.

On Friday morning, they came out on the Tribhuvan Highway in front of the hospital wearing aprons and even blocked the highway for some time by staging a sit-in on the road.

Five years ago, the government had declared Narayani Hospital as a central hospital through a meeting of the Council of Ministers and had also allocated budget for the construction of a five-story building with 350 beds. However, before the construction of the building could begin, the case related to the dispute between the Urban Development and Building Construction Department and the construction company (contractor) was pending in the Supreme Court, and has been in a state of limbo for five years.

All the doctors, nurses and other health workers of the hospital came to the streets on Friday, saying that they were facing problems in treating patients due to the lack of buildings due to the court not deciding the case.
