Jan 31, Kathmandu- The court has ordered the release of Ashika Tamang, who claims to be an activist, on a bail of Rs 20,000.
The court of Justice Santosh Prasad Parajuli held a closed-door hearing and debate today on the case of criminal harassment against Tamang.
The police had investigated him for the crime of criminal harassment in the area.
Tamang had posted a video on social media on 4 Ashwin 2002 protesting the fee charged for climbing the suspension bridge in the area leading from Suryabinayak Municipality-9 to Ward No. 10. Three days later, she had also burned the receipt for the fee charged for crossing the suspension bridge in Sanga.
In the same matter, Suryabinayak Municipality had filed a criminal complaint against Ashika with the Jagati Police Circle.
The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, had ordered her release on a bail of Rs 10,000 on Monday, after she was arrested by the Gaushala Police Circle for indecent behaviour. She was then handed over to the Bhaktapur Police.
