Jan 31, Kathmandu- Seven people have been arrested for committing cryptocurrency and online fraud worth more than three billion rupees. They were arrested by a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police.

The arrested include seven people, including Michael Dangaura of Bardagoriya-6 in Kailali, Anil Bishwakarma of Kailali, Piyush Shrestha of Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu, and Satyam Kumar Sahni of Bhimeshwor in Dolakha.

The police have recovered 13 mobile phones of different brands, 19 checks drawn in the names of various people, and Rs 550,000 in cash from them. During the police investigation, it has been revealed that they were involved in organized crypto transactions and online fraud.

CIB SP Sudhir Raj Shahi informed that it has been revealed that they have been committing online fraud using various social media platforms. Further investigation is underway against them.
