Feb 01, Kathmandu- Thailand has registered its second consecutive win in the women's tri T20I series. Thailand defeated Nepal by 4 wickets.
Thailand achieved the competitive target of 102 runs in 19 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
For Thailand, Nannapat remained unbeaten on 60 runs, hitting six fours off 58 balls.
Nannapat got the gift of life on the fourth ball of the 16th over. Captain Indu Verma missed a catch on Rubina Chhetri's ball. Nepal's Manisha Upadhyay left the field injured on the last ball of the 17th over.
Suwanan Khiaoto was dismissed for 14 runs and captain Naruemol Chaiwai for 13 runs.
For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay took 2 wickets and Kavita Joshi, Kavita Kunwar and Rubina took 1 wicket each. Kavita was injured while bowling the last ball of the third over. She was taken to the hospital after suffering a back problem.
Earlier, Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat first at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, scored 101 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
For Nepal, Kabita and Bindu Rawal shared the highest score with 25 runs. Kabita hit 2 fours off 32 balls.
Bindu hit 3 fours in 25 balls. Captain Indu Verma scored 15 runs in 17 balls with the help of 2 fours.
After opener Samjhana Khadka failed to open the account, Mamta Chaudhary added 2 runs. Pooja Mahato was dismissed for 6 and Rubina for 4 runs. Kavita Joshi was dismissed for 8 and Sita Ranamagar for 2 runs.
With the win, Thailand has 4 points from 2 matches. Nepal, having lost both matches played, is without points.
Nepal will play its third match against the Netherlands on Sunday.
