Feb 01, Kathmandu- The ward chairman of Kawasoti Municipality-1 in East Nawalparasi, who was giving a welcome speech at the district convention of the National Youth Association, has died of a heart attack.

Ward chairman Tawarak Ahmed Mia, who was also the joint secretary of the National Youth Association, East Nawalparasi, has died. Mia collapsed as soon as he came down from the stage after giving a welcome speech at the tenth district convention of the National Youth Association, Nawalpur, at the Shriram Party Palace in Gaindakot.

Although he was immediately taken to Chitwan Medical College for treatment, Mia could not return. Chitwan Medical College has stated that Mia died at 2:42 pm during treatment.

37-year-old Mia is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son. The district convention has been postponed following Mia's death.
