Feb 02, Kathmandu- Nepal has suffered its third consecutive defeat in the ongoing women's T20 series in the capital. Nepal was defeated by 15 runs against the Netherlands at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Chasing a target of 141 runs to win, Nepal could only score 125 runs after losing all their wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Captain Indu Verma top-scored with 30 runs for Nepal. She hit a six in her 32-ball innings. Similarly, Samjhana Khadka scored 23 runs off 24 balls with the help of four fours, while Pooja Mahato scored 18, Kabita Joshi scored 14 and Sita Ranamagar scored 10 runs unbeaten.
Earlier, the Netherlands, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, had scored 140 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Captain Babette de Leede top-scored for the Netherlands with 41 runs. She hit four fours and a six in 38 balls. Similarly, hitter Sigurs scored 26 runs, while Robine Rijke and Fabi scored 21 runs each.
For Nepal, Sita Rana Magar took five wickets. Similarly, Manisha Upadhyay took two wickets and Kabita Joshi and Indu Verma took one wicket each.
Nepal, Netherlands and Thailand are participating in the tournament. This is Nepal's third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Earlier, Nepal was defeated by Netherlands in the first match and Thailand in the second match. Nepal will play Thailand on 22nd Magh.
