Feb 06, Kathmandu- A mini festival is going to be held in Diktel, the district headquarters of Khotang, next Falgun. The "First Majhuwagadhi Kalika Bhagwati Mini Festival-2081" is going to be organized by the Model Sports Club Lafyang from Falgun 1 to 16.

The 17-day festival, which will be held at Basecamp Jaipuredanda in Diktel, will feature programs ranging from agricultural fair exhibitions to special musical performances by national artists, according to the organizers.

Stalls of local products will be set up at the mini festival. Former chairman of the organizing organization, Kajiman Rai, said that the festival was organized to promote tourism along with economic development of the district by prioritizing local products.

The festival will feature a district-level agricultural fair, performances by nationally renowned artists every day, a folk dance competition, an open singing competition, and a district-level poetry recitation competition.

The organizing organization, Namuna Sports Club President Bigyan Rai, said that a program will also honor the best players of each sport played in the district and an excellent journalist. For entertainment, there will be games such as rote tapping, Mickey Mouse, Scorpio, jumping, three-board, elephant horse race, and watch lottery. About 50,000 spectators are expected to attend the program.

The organizers are preparing to invite famous singers Shambhu Rai, Rajesh Payal Rai, Alina Chauhan, Babina Kiranti, Milan Newar, Sunita Thegim, Samiksha Adhikari, Jyoti Magar, and other artists born in Khotang district for musical performances. The organizers are also preparing to bring all the artists from Khotang who are participating in the Voice of Nepal competition currently being held.
