Youth Dies In Jhapa, Two Arrested Including Girlfriend Who Was Staying With Him At Lodge

Feb 07, Kathmandu- Police have taken two people into custody during the investigation into the death of a young man in Jhapa. Police have identified them as 23-year-old Muna BK of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-15 in Sunsari and 48-year-old Yam Kumari Upreti of Birtamod Municipality-5 in Jhapa.

Sagar Besra, 30, of Goldhap, Haldibari Rural Municipality-1, Jhapa, who was staying at the Everest Hotel and Lodge in Birtamod-4, died last night (Magh 24). Sagar and his girlfriend Muna had gone to sleep at the lodge after having dinner that night.

Later, at around 11 pm, Sagar collapsed on the floor near the bathroom door inside the lodge room and fainted. He was then taken to Birta City Hospital in Birtamode by Muna and hotel owner Yamkumari. The hospital declared him dead, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa.

“We have taken two women, including the hotel operator, under control for investigation,” Jhapa DSP Krishna Kumar Chandra told Bahrakhari, “Further investigation is underway.”

Muna from Sunsari had been living in Durgapur, Kankai Municipality-7, Jhapa. He informed that Muna and Yamkumari are being kept at the Area Police Office, Anarmani, and further investigation is underway.
