Tri Women's T20: Thailand wins the series

Feb 07, Kathmandu- Thailand won the women's Tri T20 series title.

Thailand won the series title by defeating Nepal by 7 wickets in the last match on Friday.

Thailand became the champion with 10 points after winning 5 of the 6 matches played in the series. Nepal lost all 6 matches in the series.

Thailand achieved the target of 82 runs in 17 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Captain Naruimol Chaiwai top-scored with 27 runs not out in Thailand's win. Nannapat Khoncharoenk scored 23 runs off 32 balls.

Earlier, Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat first at the TU ground in Kirtipur, scored only 81 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Opener Samjhana Khadka top-scored for Nepal with 17 runs. She hit 1 four off 29 balls. Kavita Joshi scored 14 runs off 12 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Captain Indu Burma was out for 10 runs while Rajmati Airi remained not out on 11 runs.

For Thailand, Onnicha Kamchomphu took 3 wickets, Chanida Sutthiruang, Nattaya Boochatham and Suleeporn Laomi took 1 wicket each. Along with Nepal, Thailand and the Netherlands participated in the series. The Netherlands came second with 8 points.
