Feb 07, Kathmandu- More than 2,000 new leprosy patients are found in Nepal in a year. In the last financial year 2080/081, 2,472 new leprosy patients were found.
The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that the prevalence rate of leprosy at the national level is 0.92 per 10,000 population. The government has claimed that it has been distributing free corrective surgeries and assistive devices to manage disabilities caused by leprosy.
