Madan Rai Sentenced To Two And A Half Years In Prison

Feb 07, Kathmandu- Madan Rai, who calls himself an agricultural expert, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

The Khotang District Court sentenced Rai, who was found guilty of child sexual abuse, on Friday.

The court has also ordered a fine of Rs 100,000 and compensation of Rs 150,000 to the victim.

A single bench of Judge Narayan Prasad Dahal had convicted 75-year-old Rai on Magh 10.

Rai, the founder of the Shubhadra Madan Foundation, was accused of sexually abusing girls and teenagers studying at the same foundation.
