Feb 08, Kathmandu- A fire broke out at the Ministry of Water Supply this morning, causing damage worth around Rs 5 million. The fire that broke out in the office of Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav destroyed two televisions, a desktop, a computer, a water heater, a table, a sofa, chairs, a carpet, a closed-circuit camera monitor and other items.
According to Ramakant Duwadi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry, the damage to the Minister's office is estimated at Rs 40 to 50 million. However, the actual details of the damage have not been received.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed. The police are investigating. No documents of the Ministry have been damaged in the fire.
The fire has damaged three rooms, including Minister Yadav's office. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is also located in the building of the Ministry of Drinking Water.
