Feb 08, Kathmandu- The U.S. Coast Guard said Friday afternoon that a crashed plane matching the description of a plane carrying 10 people missing off the west coast of Alaska was found. The crashed plane was found about 54 kilometres southeast of the city of Nome, in western Alaska.
All 10 people on board have been confirmed dead, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The wreckage was found after an hour-long search in inclement weather and low visibility.
According to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the turboprop Cessna Caravan, operated by Bering Air, went missing on Thursday afternoon.
The Nome Volunteer Fire Department said at 9 a.m. local time on Friday that the families of all those on board had been notified.
