Local Level Teaching Skills To Women

Feb 11, Kathmandu- Local levels in the district have started teaching skills to women. 'Beautician' training has been conducted for the women of Amargarhi Municipality-5 Amargarhi here.

According to Ward Chairman Tanka Chhetri, 20 women have been trained as beauticians in coordination with the ward office. The three-month training is believed to make it easier for them to start their own businesses, said Ward Chairman Chhetri.

Similarly, all seven local levels of the district have been conducting training targeted at women in sewing, making bowl out of leaf, tailoring, doll making and flower garland production, pickle making, and incense making. The Cottage and Small Industries Office and Skill Development Center have been coordinating with the local level.

According to Narendra Panta, Information Officer of the Cottage and Small Industries Office, 54 women were provided with various training related to skill development training in the last fiscal year, 2080/81. Office Chief Keswaraj Bhandari said that women are attracted to learning skills because training related to skill development and entrepreneurship is provided free of cost.
