Feb 11, Kathmandu- Nepal has improved one position in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI).
Nepal is ranked 107th with 34 points in the list released globally by Transparency International on Tuesday.
Last year, Nepal was ranked 108th with a score of 35. Transparency International surveys six different areas to measure corruption in Nepal.
This is Nepal's highest score and ranking in the 12 years since the survey began.
The Corruption Perceptions Index is prepared based on questions and surveys about corruption, good governance, and bribery in studies conducted by various organizations.
In this index, which includes 180 countries, Denmark has been the least corrupt country in the world for 7 consecutive years, scoring 90 points.
South Sudan has been ranked as the most corrupt country this year, scoring 8 points. According to Transparency, a score of 100 in the index indicates the cleanest and a score of zero indicates the most corrupt.
