Teacher Dies In Road Accident

Feb 11, Kathmandu- A teacher has died in a road accident in Dhanusha. Police have said that Purna Bahadur Bishwakarma of Pushpawalpur, Mithila Municipality-4, died in a road accident.

He was a teacher at the local National Basic School. According to Police Inspector Sonukumar Sah of the Area Police Office, Mahendranagar, the scooter he was driving, bearing the registration number Madhes Province 02 007 Pa 5020, met with an accident in Naktajhij, Mithila Municipality-2, at around 9 pm on Monday while coming from Janakpur towards Dhalkebar.

Bishwakarma, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment. The body of the deceased has been kept at the Provincial Hospital, Janakpur for postmortem. He informed that the police have taken control of the Scorpio with the number Ba 18 Cha 8768 on suspicion of hitting the scooty on which Bishwakarma was riding. He said, “We have taken control of the Scorpio and its driver for investigation. Statements are being taken from the eyewitnesses at the accident site.”

Expressing grief over the death of teacher Bishwakarma, all community and institutional schools in Mithila Municipality have been declared a day of mourning on Tuesday. In a notice issued by the municipality's education branch, it has been informed that the schools will remain closed as a mark of respect to the deceased teacher.
