Feb 11, Kathmandu- Sunchhahari Rural Municipality of Rolpa has declared a public holiday on 'People's War Day'. The public holiday was declared on Falgun 1 in memory of the armed struggle launched by the CPN-Maoist at that time.

The municipality has stated that the day will be celebrated as a festival by organizing various sports and cultural programs. The CPN-Maoist began its 10-year armed struggle on February 2, 2015.

During that period, 207 people lost their lives in Sunchhahari Rural Municipality, including 182 people from the state side and 25 from the rebel side.
