Feb 11, Kathmandu- Ghanshyam Upadhyay has been welcomed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. Earlier, Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire, who was the Secretary of Finance, has been bid farewell.

A program was held at the Ministry of Finance to welcome Upadhyay and bid farewell to Dr. Ghimire.

Yesterday's meeting of the Council of Ministers had decided to transfer Secretary Upadhyay to the Secretary of Finance and Finance Secretary Dr. Ghimire to the Office of the President.

At the program, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel expressed confidence that the expectations of the nation and the people from the Ministry of Finance would be fulfilled under the administrative leadership of Finance Secretary Upadhyay.

Finance Minister Poudel said that during his tenure as Finance Secretary, Dr. Ghimire had sincerely contributed to making the economy disciplined and dynamic, and that the Ministry of Finance would also take his experience and knowledge into account in the coming days.

Finance Secretary Upadhyay expressed his gratitude to the Government of Nepal and the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister for assigning him the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance and expressed his commitment to create an environment for additional investment by working on revenue growth, capital expenditure growth, unnecessary expenditure reduction, production growth, etc.

Secretary Dr. Ghimire expressed his gratitude to the government for entrusting him with the position of Revenue Secretary and Finance Secretary and said that he would always support Nepal's economy to be strong and dynamic.
