Medical education: 231 seats added to PG

Feb 14, Kathmandu- The Medical Education Commission has added 231 seats in various postgraduate (PG) subjects compared to last year. The commission has said that with the addition of 231 seats in various postgraduate subjects in government-owned institutes and colleges, a total of 126 seats have been made available.

Last year, there were 795 seats in these institutions.

The 17th meeting of the commission, chaired by Prime Minister and Chairman of the Medical Education Commission KP Sharma Oli, decided to increase the number of seats in 14 institutions and reduce them to four.

According to the details provided by a senior official of the commission, the highest number of seats has been added to the National Institute of Medical Education (NAMs) with 118 seats. With the additional seats, the number of PG seats in NAMs has reached 250.

After that, 40 seats have been added to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. The number of PG seats in BP has now reached 204.

With the addition of 24 more seats in Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences, the number of PG seats has reached 94.

17 PG seats have been added to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences. Before this Karnali got 7 seats in PG.
