Feb 14, Kathmandu- An agreement has been signed between SmartChoice Technologies Limited (SCT), a payment system operator licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, and Nepal Rastra Bank's licensed payment system operator (NCHL) to operate payment services for Smart QR merchants through Alipay Plus.

Alipay Plus has been providing cross-border payment services through e-wallets and mobile banking in countries including China, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and others. After the agreement, more than 1.6 billion Alipay users will be able to pay merchants affiliated with Smart QR.

Smart QR, which will be issued under the Nepal QR Standard, following the prevailing international standard for QR codes, EMV. Standard, is Nepal's first interoperable QR code.

It is believed that after this agreement, which was made keeping in mind the customers of the country and abroad, it will be even easier for merchants of Smart QR to receive international payments.
