Feb 16, Kathmandu- President Ram Chandra Paudel has reached the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur. President Paudel has reached the hospital to inquire about the health status of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, who are undergoing treatment in the ICU after suffering burns after a balloon burst in Pokhara on Saturday.

President Paudel was briefed by Health Secretaries Roshan Pokharel and Hari Prasad Mainali, and hospital director Kiran Kishore Nakarmi, along with doctors involved in the treatment, about the health condition and treatment process of Minister Paudel and Mayor Acharya.

Paudel and Acharya were brought to Kathmandu by helicopter on Saturday with burns on their faces, necks and palms. Paudel and Acharya were injured when a hydrogen gas-filled balloon caught fire during the inauguration of the Pokhara Visit Year. The hospital has stated that both will be kept in the intensive care unit for 48 hours for treatment. The notice issued by the hospital states that the condition of both is out of danger.
