Foreign Minister Meets With Iranian Foreign Minister, Seeks Assistance For Bipin's Release

Feb 17, Kathmandu- Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi met in Muscat, Oman, on Monday.

The meeting took place between Foreign Minister Deuba, who is in Muscat, the capital of Oman, to participate in the 8th Indian Ocean Summit.

During the talks, issues of Nepal-Iran relations and mutual interests were discussed. Also, on that occasion, Minister Rana had requested the Iranian Foreign Minister to take diplomatic initiatives for the release of Nepali youth Bipin Joshi who is under the control of the Hamas group.

A few days ago, Foreign Minister Rana had spoken to the Iranian Foreign Minister on the phone and requested him to take initiatives for Joshi's release.

The Iranian Foreign Minister has assured that he will take all possible steps to free Nepali youth Bipin from Hamas.

The Nepalese government is continuing diplomatic initiatives to free Bipin, who was captivated by Hamas in October 2023. In this regard, Minister Rana had appealed to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar only yesterday.
