'Tandavam' Passes Censor Board After 10 Minutes Of Editing

Feb 20, Kathmandu- The film 'Tandavam', which was stopped by the censors due to its extremely violent scenes, has been cleared by the censors. Director Junim Gahatraj said that the Central Film Censor Board (Censor Board) has given it a PG certificate after the production team made extensive edits.

Now, children under the age of 16 will have to be accompanied by a parent to watch the film. Director Junim, who is also an actor, said that the violent scenes of the film have been cut without losing the essence of the story.

The film, which was 2 hours and 6 minutes long when it was first censored, has been reduced to a runtime of about 1 hour and 56 minutes after the second censoring. Director Gahatraj said that about 10 minutes of runtime has been reduced from the entire film.

"We have tried to present a good movie to the audience. We are confident that the audience will like it too. The censor officials also liked the edited movie, he informed. The director is confident that the audience and critics will also like 'Tandavam' as it has received a good response from the censors.

The production team is preparing to open advance ticket bookings today as the movie has passed the censors. The movie will be released in cinemas across the country from Friday, Falgun 9.

The film stars Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Junim Gahatraj, Ankit Khadka, Sarina Magar, Anoj Pandey, Kamal Karki and Gopal Katuwal. The film is a family and action thriller genre that tells the story of a newly married couple who are preparing to welcome their first child and the ups and downs that occur in their lives due to unimaginable events.
