Feb 22, Kathmandu- US President Donald Trump has lashed out at two world leaders who are set to meet him, saying French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have done "nothing" to end the war in Ukraine.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet with President Trump at the White House next week. Trump also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had no knowledge of the peace agreement.
Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Since then, Britain, France, and other allied countries have been sending weapons and other aid to Ukraine.
On Monday, European leaders held an emergency meeting in Paris on Ukraine, just one day before a meeting between the United States and Russia in Saudi Arabia the following day.
European leaders had expressed fears that this peace agreement could drive Ukraine and Europe apart.
Despite criticizing British Prime Minister Starmer and French President Macron, US President Trump praised European leaders in an interview with Fox News.
He called President Macron a "friend" and Prime Minister Starmer a "good person."
President Macron is expected to arrive in Washington, DC on Monday, while Prime Minister Starmer is expected to arrive at the White House on Thursday, according to reports.
